Looking for my next “Perfect Fit” opportunity

I am an innovative, results oriented business professional with 19+ years of progressive career advancement driven by creating success for my employers, clients and partners. I have 18 years experience with networking and messaging and am consistently called upon to fix ‘troubled’ or challenging projects, even by IBM/Lotus. As an experienced Lotus Notes Domino Architect, I have been contracted by Lotus to assist them in test writing for their certification program and was the Sr. Messaging Architect of the “Western Region Notes/Domino Team” for IBM for several years based out of Phoenix. I have proven my ability to drive achievement through excellent communication, process innovation and a business value approach to technology consulting.

Talented at mastering new technologies, industries and corporate environments, I have demonstrable success with over 100 clients. With extensive international consulting experience, I effectively communicate across cultural and geographic boundaries and work effectively in a variety of corporate cultures and structures. I am a highly energetic and motivated individual with the ability to balance many responsibilities under pressure while being driven to succeed with a focus on corporate values and ethical business practices. With extensive time spent in front of corporate executives, I am poised and confident with the demonstrated ability to influence business leaders, technology teams and line of business management both individually and in large presentation environments.

I am a highly detailed and disciplined Architect who believes that two key components drive project success: Communications and Process. I continually strive to insure effective and productive communications is maintained with all project stakeholders throughout the project; believing that lack of attention to this element causes 80% of project failures. Furthermore, I have demonstrated throughout my career that the stringent application of quality project management acumen is a critical factor to project success. To this end, I have striven to apply industry best practices such as corporate PMO policies and good general business sense to all my engagements.

I have extensive technical expertise with Lotus Notes/Domino and related technologies including Lotus Domino architecture and implementation on i5/OS, AIX, Linux and Windows. I have designed Notes/Domino implementations for industry/government from 100 users to 20,000+ users. I have additional expertise with Lotus Sametime, Lotus Quickr, Lotus Connections, IBM Websphere Application Server, IBM Websphere Portal Server, IBM DB2, LDAP, etc. on multiple platforms. I also have extensive expertise in Messaging Migration and Coexistence projects moving from Microsoft Exchange, Novell Groupwise, IBM OfficeVision, POP3, cc:Mail, MS Mail to Lotus Notes/Domino. I have performed Lotus Notes Domain Merge/Domino re-branding projects for companies such as CBT Systems, Zodiac Corporation and Swift Transportation. I’ve also been engaged to oversee another vendor’s design and implementation as an advocate for the client to ensure best practices and provide additional expertise to a project.

I am an active networker on LinkedIn. Please visit my LinkedIn page at http://www.linkedin.com/in/apufford and send me an invite. I accept all invites. This site is an excellent resource for professional networking and a great tool for us to help each other out. I actively participate and pass along leads and opportunities to my network and will not spam you.
